Community Choice Michigan named enrollment option

HMO is designated plan for Medicaid consumers in Antrim, Grand Traverse

OKEMOS, Mich., May 9, 2005 – Community Choice Michigan (CCM), a nonprofit Medicaid managed health care plan, has been named the enrollment option for Medicaid managed care consumers in Antrim and Grand Traverse counties effective May 1.

Medicaid consumers in Antrim and Grand Traverse counties will automatically be enrolled in CCM unless they call Michigan Enrolls, the state’s Medicaid enrollment broker, asking to remain on fee-for-service. CCM expects the enrollment option program to increase its membership by up to 4,000 enrollees.

“Community Choice Michigan’s mission is to provide quality health care for the medically underserved,” said Chief Executive Officer Karl V. Kovacs. “We are thrilled that the state has recognized CCM’s presence in Antrim and Grand Traverse by naming us as the enrollment option for Medicaid consumers in those counties.”

The Michigan Department of Community Health granted CCM enrollment option status in Antrim and Grand Traverse because it was the only Medicaid managed care plan in the two counties and has a comprehensive network of primary care providers and specialists.

CCM covers all Medicaid services required by the Michigan Department of Community Health. It also offers benefits such as a member service center, 24-hour nurse hotline, transportation to doctor’s appointments, case management for members, and health education.
